What information do we collect
and how do we use it?

When you order, we need to know your name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, credit card number, and credit card expiration date. This allows us to process and fulfill your order and to notify you of your order status.

If and when you participate in an Online Chat, you'll be prompted to submit your name and where you're from (for example, "Jack from New York") and your question, but no other information is formally stored in the archive of the chat.

We may personalize your shopping experience by using your purchases and site behavior to monitor customer traffic patterns and site usage to help us develop the design and layout of the site. We may also use the information we collect to occasionally notify you about important functionality changes to the web site and new Screen Saver Lab services. How does Screen Saver Lab
protect customer information?

Screen Saver Lab uses the latest encryption technology to keep your personal information safe. All your ordering information -- including your name, address, and credit card number -- is encrypted using a secure server for maximum security. Your credit card and other information cannot be read as it travels to our ordering system. To ensure that your information is even more secure, once we receive your credit card information, we store it on a server that is not accessible from the Internet. We're so certain that our online order systems are secure that we back it up with a guarantee. In the unlikely event that you are subject to fraudulent charges, remember to first notify your credit card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures. If, for whatever reason, you are held responsible for any fraudulent charges made on our site, Screen Saver Lab will cover the entire liability for you, up to $100, as long as the unauthorized use of your credit card resulted through no fault of your own from purchases made from Screen Saver Lab while using our secure server.

Credit card transactions are handled by a third-party financial institution, which receives the credit card number and other personal identifying information only to verify the credit card numbers and process transactions.

What about "cookies"?

"Cookies" are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. Our own site uses cookies to speed navigation, keep track of items, and provide you with custom-tailored content. By showing us how and when shoppers use the site, cookies also help us see which areas are popular and which are not. Many improvements and updates to the site are based on the data derived from these cookies, such as total number of visitors and pages viewed. Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies. Screen Saver Lab does NOT share customer information -- particularly not credit card information -- with third parties. Screen Saver Lab may release account information when we believe, in good faith, that such release is reasonably necessary to (i) comply with law, (ii) enforce or apply the terms of any of our user agreements, or (iii) protect the rights, property, or safety of Screen Saver Lab, our users, or others.

What is our policy if you link
to a third-party web site?

When you click on links and/or ad banners that take you to third-party web sites, you will be subject to the third parties' privacy policies. While we support the protection of privacy on the Internet, Screen Saver Lab cannot be responsible for the actions of third parties.
